The steering wheel of the Astre Mobile celebrates erosion, deep time and marine landscapes. Created by Claude Prautois, a specialist in the restoration of the greatest automotive steering wheels, it retains the purity of the original design while giving it a new organic dimension.
Its finish evokes driftwood shaped by the waves, the wind and the sun. The hand no longer encounters a simple mechanical object, but a living material whose shades echo the shell-embroidered upholstery.
With its sand tones and extreme sobriety, the steering wheel visually balances the entire dashboard. It highlights the deep blue of the instrument cluster and the golden details that surround it, while extending the natural world of Astre Mobile right through to the sculptural trunk that accompanies the work.
