Maison Lacmé

Maison Lacmé is a creative house founded by Cécile and Antoine Tauvel. It transforms familiar objects into works of art thanks to the exceptional skills of the craft trades, in order to restore the real world’s power of wonder.

Each creation arises from the meeting between an artistic vision and exceptional craftsmanship. By revealing the poetic potential of everyday objects, Maison Lacmé creates works where contemporary creation and craftsmanship become inseparable.

Maison Lacmé collaborates with collectors, interior designers, cultural institutions, foundations and luxury houses.

Everything can start with an object:

  • An emblematic object of a company.
  • An object passed down from generation to generation.
  • An industrial object that has become familiar.
  • A piece of furniture, an instrument, a vehicle, a souvenir.

Maison Lacmé imagines a transformation in its artistic expression and builds around it a constellation of materials, gestures and savoir-faire.

Each work is unique. Its history, its scale, and the artisans involved define it with its commissioning client, based on their wishes and the budget they wish to allocate to the project.

Astre Mobile is Maison Lacmé's first work and the first expression of its artistic approach.

Antoine TAUVEL

Antoine Tauvel is the Artistic Director of Maison Lacmé. He visualises every creation by Maison Lacmé through drawing, formal research, scale models and prototypes. These initial explorations define the language of each piece before it comes to life through dialogue with exceptional artisans.

His work explores the poetic metamorphosis of everyday objects. Through Maison Lacmé, he seeks less to create new objects than to reveal new ways of looking at them.

Cécile TAUVEL

Cécile develops the transmission and storytelling dimension of Maison Lacmé. She designs formats that are accessible to all: exhibitions, workshops, editorial content and podcasts. She is the creator of Pop in!, a podcast with over 130 episodes that explores the way passion, art, design and fine craft brighten up our daily lives.
